We created The Portfolio Management Game based on feedback from our clients and after conversations with many corporate portfolio management practitioners.
Universally, they felt that the improved project and investment selection as well as organizational performance that corporate portfolio management enables is often not fully understood. While they've tried to bring in experts or send out whitepapers, they conceded that oftentimes, the learnings from these were often non-existent or too theoretical to be practically useful. They wanted a way to educate senior leaders, their peers and employees about Corporate Portfolio Management in a way that would stick with them.
The Portfolio Management Game is an effective educational tool as it makes employee education engaging, exciting, fun and interactive. The Game uses role-playing, brainstorming, collaboration and a bit of healthy competition to achieve this.
- Independent research validates that employee education that utilizes simulations or games is more effective than traditional (read: boring) methods of employee education
- The Game makes the concepts of Corporate Portfolio Management clear to executives and/or employees and equips participants with a true understanding of the benefits of portfolio management
- Participants leave with information and ideas they can take back to their jobs to improve their own and the organization's performance
- Most importantly, participants actually enjoy The Game making employee education both useful and fun
It's time to put an end to highly ineffective sleep-inducing lectures and whitepapers that don't work to educate employees.
